Neurotransmitters
What are neurotransmitters?
Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that your body can’t function without. Their job is to carry chemical signals, from nerve cells to target cells. The next target cell can be another nerve cell, a muscle cell or a gland. The contribute to nearly every function in the human body.
An appropriate balance of neurotransmitters can help prevent certain health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately, there is no proven way to ensure that neurotransmitters are balanced and working correctly. However, consuming a nutritious diet, getting regular exercise, and stress management can help in most cases.
